One Madhes : One State , How Relevant
The million dollar question is " Is this a relevant demand"? here I would like to investigate this issue, hope I will conclude it honestly.
Nepal is a small country with a population of about 30 million. Basically people of two different races are found in Nepal. one is of aryan race being called as Madhesis and other being of Mangolian Race being reffered as Pahade. while both this groups are roughly equal to each other in number , the participation of madhesis in State machinery has been far lesser than of pahade. This eneqaulity is bound to invite tussle which ultimately has been the case in recent time. Now madhesis are demanding their due right which they can not be denied by any means.
When Nepal is gearing up to adopt a federal democratic system , the issues raised by Madhesi community has to be sorted out with dignity to avoid any sort of unstability. People in madhesh has been deprieved of many state facillities over years and now they feel they should be participating in every activities equally with their pahade counterparts. The demand of One madhes one Pradesh is nothing but it is a major loop forward to ensure the rights of madhesis would be preserved. Madhesis have been feeding entire Nepal for hundreds of years, they are the biggest tax payers and the biggest revenue generator for the state, while the rulers have never thought of seriously investing any state fund for development of Madhesh. During the rainy season, almost entire Madhesh reamins under flood while Pahade rulers enjoy their time in Kathmandu. So If madhesis have decided to ensure their future themselves by forming a Single autonomous state of madhesh then they should be granted that to avoid any confrontation in future.
Those who are opposing this demand often put a very funny logic that madhesh has been inhabited by different castes and communities of people so that can not be a single state. Nepal is a country of different castes, religion, ethnicity, if it can be a single nation then why not Madhes a sinle state?
Madhesi leaders should not bow down to any pressure exerted by pahadi leaders(Who all are very corrupt and power loving traitors for the country), they are doing so only to ensure their supremacy. Madhesi leaders have now got a greater responsibility of ensuring people' right in a dignified manner, they should make sure that the number of constituencies for centre have to decided in such a way that each and every voter will have a equal electoral right.

people house, inside house they have done Laathi charge, one pregnant
woman taking rest inside room also injured badly by police. Thinking
this matter all people of different ages, went to top of the house &
thrown stones, etta to police then they run away from their. Also
police enter into many person house in murli chowk, janak chowk, miss
area then done Laathi charge their. Nearly about more the 50 person
are injured today.. Also today they have done Laathi charge in
hospital wards also.
Also they have done Laathi charge to most of press reporter, thrown
their Camera also. Yesterday they went to Mithanchal FM office & done
Laathi charge to all FM units. For that Patrakar is also in andolan.
Voice from police at that time..
"le ta lai Madhesh chahiyo, ......... Marshiya haru"
" hami pahile pani badnaam thiye, ab te lai marera badnaam hunchu.......
Marshiya"
Also to one human right leader "Sunil dutt" Nepal police have done
laathi Cahrge. When he told that I am from human right, then police
replied "....... Madhesi pani Human Right ma huncha''. After that police
okkar sab ke (Human Right's person) ke Kapda phaeer delkai, then done
Laathi Charge to them, now you are not representative of human rights.
They are Badly Injured. After this incidents these people went to CDO
but CDO don't meet them. They are in Andolan Now.
Also as from my guess, from tomorrow andolan will be huge & huge....
This type of incident is shown in every parts of Terai...
I request you all staying out side Nepal; please think in this matter,
which is happening in our mother land Madhesh & try to make some
pressure to Nepal government to stop this incident.
Police are miss-using their power- innocent Madhesi people are getting
injured & KILLED every day by Nepal police, those who are asking for
their Rights in Nepal. We again threated as Gulam by Pahari
Government.
Thanks & With Best Regard,

Message “To support Madhesi Andolan in Nepal.”

Letter No: 07/08
Subject: Message "To support Madhesi Andolan in Nepal."
Dear Friends,
With reference to the present struggle of our beloved madhesi brothers and sisters, we at AIMSA are bound to stand by them at this critical moment. This is a tough time in Nepalese history because of the fact that Nepal is at a transitional stage.
When we dream to build a new nation, obviously the start should be proper and inclusive of all fraternity of Nepal, where as the present scenario is exactly opposite. We definitely do not wish to put a weak foundation and for that we need to ensure equal right for every citizen of the country. Still the ruling class is not willing to provide equal space to less privileged and marginalized groups, which is rather shocking and condemnable.
AIMSA believes the demands put forth by the agitating madhesi people are genuine and must be addresses in a dignified manner. If the voice of general public is suppressed in a way it's being done will definitely deepen national crisis. We cannot deny a more severe revolt if the government continues to ignore the issues raised by disgruntled madhesi people.
With Regards,

Subject: Press release "Regarding Current Human Rights Situation in Madhes."
Dear Friends,
We have come to know that in recent Terai Movement, there has been a brutal use of police force to suppress the agitation. This undemocratic move of the state has not only violated the human rights of people but also it has put question mark on democratic right of people in Nepal.
The police action so far has been highly uncivilized and unethical provided the agitators were peacefully demanding their rights. This action has left one dead and hundreds of injured. We, at AIMSA, mourn the death of the departed soul and wish a speedy recovery for the injured. This is one of the many human right violation cases happening in recent time in Nepal. We strongly condemn this coward act of the state. We urge them to take up the responsibility and do the justice by immediately stopping the extreme action and set up an enquiry to punish the culprits. We express our deepest condolence to the family of deceased Gulzar Khan and urge the government to compensate the families of deceased and the injured.
