Hi All,
There are two news to get excited.
- Discovery of Kerosene Oil Mine (http://www.kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=186500)
- Discovery of Coal Mine (http://www.nepalnews.com/archive/2009/mar/mar25/news01.php / http://www.thehimalayantimes.com/fullstory.asp?filename=aFanata0sa3qzpma0Ra3qa.axamal&folder=aHaoamW&Name=Home&dtSiteDate=20090325)
Hope the news are not just rumors but truth to be explored. These news just add to the facts that Terai is supposed to be hotbed of Oils and India & US company has already bidded for research-exporation. FYI.. Area near was Mahottari/Dhanusha suppied saltperter (a type of explosive) was hosting mine and suppied heavly during King PN Shah.
The Question to you people to think is, "Whether locals will have preference/priority for the resource control, policy, utilization and distribution?"
For those people, (who generally get carried away with illusioned Kathmandu based Nationalism) I want to add.
- As per rule partial disciminative rule (as this don't encompass Teraian), locals in Pahar have consumption/utilization right over Forest Resource.
- As per rule, locals don't have to pay for electricity to government, if they manage local resource/method for Hydropower generation/distribution. Here is recent news (http://www.kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=186502)
Everyone, please suggest, what should be stand among local/native people for local resource exploration & distribution.
Thanks,
Ram Manohar
