The Relevance of Madhesis’ Common Front

Now the world knows how Nepalese Madhesis have been facing discrimination for years. In a democratic system, it’s everybody’s fundamental right to be treated equally. As we Nepalese are too vying to have a democratic set up in our country, we would definitely not want any kind of discrimination and fights amongst ourselves. All the concerned authorities in power should ensure the smooth transition of current political system to a fully democratic system. Not a single Nepalese’s fundamental rights should be denied or suppressed.
We are at a building stage, even if a single stone in the foundation of a building is damaged, building’s longevity and stability decrease considerably. Same thing can happen with a nation’s set up, at this point of time, we can not leave the madhesi issues unsolved. Each of us knows a problem ignored is a bigger problem in future; we can not go blindly over the current crisis in madhes if we wish to lay a strong foundation for democracy in Nepal. I know this can not be solved single handedly, all the concerned groups and authority should build trust on each other then definitely we can expect a pact and we can dream for a prosperous Nepal.
Currently there are numerous groups active in Terai claiming themselves as well wishers of madhes and madhesi, I would like to ask them a question if they are honest in their approach then why can’t they form a single group with a common agenda truly devoted to uplift madhes and madhesi. If they are coming together, they will be a vital force to reckon; definitely their voice will be heard. I have been learning from my early childhood that “Unity is strength”. I am sure our so called great leaders also must have learnt but why are not they successful in implementing it in practice.
Today, the condition of madhes is even worst than earlier because of everyday’s strikes and bandhs, life has been crippled. General public is fed up with these atrocities, can anybody tell me where our future will be, if the same way continues, our young generation is unable to go to schools and colleges, businessmen are hard hit and farmers are no where. I would like to request all agitating groups to come together, make a common front and then peacefully make the government understand their demands. I can guarantee if we come together and be united for a common goal then in no time we can achieve our goal.

We Have moved inch Closer to the Goal

Dear Friends,

Last two days were definitely very crucial though Hectic, but heads up to you all for putting such a great effort. we have defintely moved a long way in persuit of our journey. We have fared this distance with a fantastic pace, and the reason of such a wonderful pace is nothing but our thrust to attain equality back home.
This is terribly true, that every madhesi would have gone at least once through the pain, the humiliation at the hands of pahades. And that is why we all are committed splendidly to end that monopoly practiced by pahades. We only wish to make them think that we(Madhesis) are an integral part of Nepal, we can together form a great force to launch development of our motherland. There shouldn't be any bias, monopoly in New Nepal. We all should be practically equal. Then only we can dream for a developed Nepal.
AIMSA is definitely putting effort to make that happen. We have so far established a good network amongst madhesi youth spread across India and Nepal. We don't attempt to disintegrate madhesis from Nepal, rather we are trying to bring them together in greater interest of country. Hence the meetings held on 15th and 16th of Sept 07, have come with very good resolutions which ultimately will help us bring more people closer every day.
Our long awaited CONSTITUTION has been finalized, though a formal constitution will come from our first general convention proposed in Jan 08. I thank all the enthusiastic youths for the unity and understanding. I am sure we would surely be moving together as we are moving today, we will be scaling more heights in coming days with our heads high.
Thanks!!!
Sujit

Great Job!!

Surendra ji,
Congratulations on forming AIMSA . You have already done a marvelous job of bringing Madheshi students scattered all across India under one umbrella - AIMSA.

I received an information that you're going to have your Convention in Banglore. Please let me know the exact dates and venue so that I can plan to be there.

As you may know, I'll be in Kathmandu to attend 3rd. Global NRN Conference from Oct. 15-17. If your convention is around that time, I'll try my best to attend.

Once again, thanks for doing the outstanding job!

Best Wishes,
Ratan Jha

why we need unity in ourselves?

'UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL".

"UNITY IS STRENGTH" it states that as long as people are united, they can face any problem, any challenge and ward it off successfully. on other hand, if we are divided, we will not able to face any threat or challenge as we are weakend.
" Divided and Rule " has been one of the most commonly used strategies adopted by some of the leaders to sthengthen their hold over peoples who are not favourably inclined towards them. by breaking the unity of the people, they are able to retain their power, despite all the misrule which they inflicted upon the people.
when a man come from single platform and join their forces, their strength increases in geometrical proportion or exponentially and such an enhanched strength can take on anyone who dares to work against their intrests. but such a unity is normally exhibited only in the times of crises.
WE NEED TO UNITE TO PROGRESS OURSELVES AND OUR COMMUNITY WHICH IS DISCRIMINATED FROM 250 YEARS.

WE NEED TO UNITE OURSELVES TO PROMOTE OUR IDENTITY THROUGH WORLD.

WE NEED TO UNITE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF OUR OWN SOCIETY.

WE NEED TO UNITE FOR TO SHOW OUR STRENGTH.

their way and come in front to keep your hand together for the well fare of madhesi people.
Make their identity proud around world as well as in our own country.
Unity is our strength so try to maintain your strength.
If we have no strength than we are useless for everyone no one will value us till now
you saw that what was happened previously how much they valued us.
They always want to divide or use to divide our community, with help of several parasites.
We base our basic ideology on the following baseline: EQUALITY AND DIGNITY for madhesis as equal citizens of Nepal. It is a real shame that we have kept quite despite being discriminated and abused for hundreds of years. To live like a second class citizen in our own soil (madhesh) and be treated with such an indignity and impunity by pahadi supremacists and yet to wait with patience that one day things will get better, is a blot of our past. It must be cleaned at all cost.
I ask you, my brothers and sisters, IS EQUALITY AND DIGNITY A LOT TO ASK? History will never forgive us if we still keep spectating meekly and suffer the boots of pahadi supremacism. If you believe you are true sons and daughters of madhesh, stand up, hold your fist high and say - "HUM MADHESI, HAMAR MADHESH" and plead to fight - fight for our right.
Any individual sympethising with our quest for "equality and dignity" is our friend and our source of inspiration regardless of his/her race, colour, caste or creed

IDENTITY
It is must for the recognition and identity of Madhesh & Madheshi in the worlds.
No one tells them you are Nepali, first they use to tell that you belong to India or some of them are says that the name particular state you belong.
Each and every madhesi student have same problem in sarcc countries even in their own country who studying in pokhara, Katmandu, and dhulikhel ……………….

AIMSA is a platform for madhesis to fight for their due rights and dignity in Nepal. Madhesi movement is already in offing in various forms and through various organisations. However, they are scattered and disoriented despite their same goal for the average madhesis. AIMSA envisages aligning the movement and surging it forward with force. It represents the fight against Pahadi-supremacist oppression and institutionalized marginalization in Nepal. We will give befitting reply to the Pahadi bigotry and discrimination against us. We need to teach the bigots what is called mutual respect and equality.

Feature of our organisation
AIMSA aims for equality and dignity for madhesis in Nepal. Anyone, who thinks we deserve them as our due right, can be our member. Our memebrs spread across whole India . Precisely, Madhesis studentsin india came up with the idea of such an umbrella organisation to align madheshi movement. We believe in "Gandhian" philosophy of revolution. The list is being compiled and anyone wishing to join can come together and join.
VOICESES OF AIMSA
“Independence is madheshi greatest priority people must be able to decide on their future something they have not been able to do up to now”.
“Be united and make others to unite, for the well fare of madhesi people and their coming generation.”

Being a citizen of a country and belonging to a country are 2 different things indeed........
“GIVE YOUR heartly FULL SUPPORT FOR MADHESI WELLFARE, AND MAKE A FUTURE BETTER MADHESH FOR OUR NEXT GENERATION WITH UNITY IN DIVERSITY

Ability of unity in our community shows the strength of our wealth. Our ability to make good decision will determine our success as much as any other any other factor. It is not lack of ability or opportunity that holds madhesi back; it is only lack of confidence in madhesi
Be united and make others to unite, for the well fare of madhesi people and their coming generation.”
One-madhes-one-state
Several culture, several language, several religion but only one state that is madhesh, it is the definition of madhesi unity in diversity.
What is your vision for your next generation and your life? What do you want to be your next generation? Imagine no limitations, what would you do with your next generation if you had all the education, experience, and resources that you and your generation required. Your life is a reflection for your next generation. If you change you thinking, than you change your generation and yourself.

Now we have time to shape the future for our next generation. We can start building of madhesh together from the beginning”. Revolution will bring madhesi the opportunity for a new society of madhesi that would respect madhesis culture, madhesis dignity and give equal status in every stream of country. And where fundamental problems such as corruption, social injustice and issues related to ethnic minorities would be addressed with urgency.

Madhesis are educationally, economically and socially backward compared to those residing in the hilly regions and are discriminated against based on their costumes, languages, art, social structure and are jeered at with derogatory words such as 'madhise, bhaiya (brother in Hindi), and dhoti . Some of the demands made by Madhesis are the right to autonomy; political representation in the central government; equal rights for their languages in courts, in education, and in local and central administration; and an end to Bahunbad.
IDENTITY IS BCOZ EVERY PART OF THE WORLD AND AS WELL AS HILLY REGION OF NEPALI BROTHERS DO DOT KNOW THAT YOU ARE A NEPALI. EVERYONE TREAT MADHESI LIKE INDIAN EVEN NOT LIKE A MADHESI OF NEPALI.

ECONOMY OF MADHESMadhes's [Terai’s] Contribution to Nepalese EconomyTerai people (Madhesees) have made significant contribution to the development of Nepalese economy. 60% of the total land of Nepal falls in the plains. Thus the plain people make 60% of contribution in the entire agriculture. Gross Development (GDP) made by the Madhesees is 65%. On the other hand, they contribute 72% to industrial inputs. They run about 49% of industries. Thus they contribute 76% to the revenue. All the major dry ports and transit points lie in plains on the Nepal-India borders. Indeed, the entire Nepalese territory north to India is inhabited by the Madhesees. They have intact relations with people of Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and those on northern Indian borders.
LITERACY OF MADHES
Madhesees having 24.5% population have only 17.7% of high literacy. This biasness on the part of the state will be detrimental in the long run, leading to heavy disproportionateness and final extinction of the community. The women of this community face the same lot or fate.

Proper job placement madhesi student
no single Madhesees is atop any constitutional body. Even the present cabinet has few ministers from the same community. Only one Madhesees official of the Foreign Services has been appointed as the ambassador. Especially, no Madhesees has been appointed for the same post representing different sectors on political level. Only one Madhesees is promoted and posted for the post of Secretary in the entire Nepalese government. According to some government data, only 259 Madhesees held the post of Section Officers out of a total 2,500 officials about some years ago. In fact, the government has adopted a policy of keeping the Madhesees at a bay and away from the mainstream of the state on account of complex constitutional and legal provisions.
