[AIMSA "Unity in Diversity"] Re: OBC-The federation of Other Backward Classes

Dear Members,
I agree with this line "Reservation should be in terms of economic conditions of Family not in terms of caste" if reservation will be on caste basis then it will goes to only rich people who have money and political power, then how about for the poor family who wants to see their child to be educated but, they can't afford for that. It is not matter only about education but, lots of things are there, then the world would be remain same as it was "Jis ki lathi uski bhais"

Hi All

I would like to says one thing with new emerging topic "Other Backward Classes (OBC)" and forming a national interest discussion in Nepal that THIS IS AGAIN THE NEW STRATEGY WHICH THE RULING CLASS has thought to DIVIDE THE MADHESI WITHIN THEMSELVES AGAIN.

Firstly they divide "THARUS" from Madhesi and now their objective is to divide "Madhesi" among themselves with many castes.
We all people seriously need to think in the caste factor in our society.

Now we are in the 21st century and in this century it is really bad to see that some people still support the Caste division system in nepal.

We are outside of Nepal and we better know the world.

I agreed with bal krishna jhaji that if OBC is coming then who is a madhesi?.

Guys try to understand that this is new strategy of ruling class people to divide madhesi within themselves.

I think being an intellectual no one should support the Caste division system in Nepal because if we support this then we
can not go forward. we will go Backward again and again and at last their wont be changes in the society.

THere is another method to help the people in terms of their support.

Reservation would be their in terms of economic conditions of Family.

GOvernment should make the database of people and have the reservation in terms of Family annual income less than certain amount. We all people should help each other if they have income less than certain amount.

Society would not see the change when caste reservation system would be implemented and good econonmic conditon of family gets benefitted with their caste Tag.

Soceity would be changed only when family with bad economic condtions are really benefitted irrespective of caste factor.
People should help each other with thier humanisim rules not by Caste factor.

As i think this is the Cancer of our society. And Madhesi development cannot be done if this caste factor is implemented.

Guys share your ideas in this topic.

So we need to DO IT NOW!!!

Thanks and Regards

Dear Nawal ji,

Completely agreed. The prime concern for us as madhesi, at present should be to define madhesi.

Dear All
We should be concerned about the issues are coming to detach one madhesi from other. The consitution writing process is yet to start. None of the largest parties have clearly stated their views about how they want to address the concern of madhesi about restructuring of states, recruitment of madhesi in army, security and  other organ of the government. The most important thing is that who is madhesi is yet to be fomally defined. At this stage there is a need to be united until we get our rights secured as madhesi which is not so easy. Unless the new constitution secures the right of madhesi, our fate remain uncertain. Therefore, this is the time to unite ourselves rather than divide ourselves on various background.  So we should be careful with the new ideas which will divide us and weaken our strength and that will ultimately benefit to the rulers.

Thanks

Subject: Re: OBC-The federation of Other Backward Classes

Hello,

We should first try to find out from where, all of a sudden, the OBC thing emerged. In a progressive manner, the integral elements of the madhesi society is being taken out. First the Tharus, then Musalmans, then Dalits, then OBC. Now, who is a madhesi? Is the madhesi just the remaining Yadavs, Rajputs, Kayasthas and Brahmins?

If we endorse the OBCs, we acknowledge that they are a separate identity. The non-madhesi state will oblige these groups and might make them stand against the remaining madhesis. And one would soon hear the Avadhis raising their own demands, the maithils claiming to be different and Bhojpuris pushing for their own set of demands for recognition.

Therefore, on one hand, we should be sympathetic to the underpriviliged in our own society, and act to push for whoever that have been discriminated by our own madhesi society. And on the other, we should not let the OBCs or others feel that they are another separate identity as Tharus or Dalits. Its time, we correct the double standards of our society, if we are to prosper as a dignified madhesi.

Best,

Bal Krishna Jha

Hi All

The federation of Other Backward Classes (OBC) warned of further protests until their demands are met. The federation represents 31 backward castes/communities such as Kuswaha, Kalwar, Hajam and Musalman, have demanded the government include OBCs in the list of indigenous groups and ethnic nationalities in the constitution and give them equal rights.

The constitution writing process will start from coming Sunday (Nov 16) as the long awaited CA regulations are set to be endorsed on Friday.

What do you think guys ? Should we support them ?

Thanks
