A Volcanic Eruption is in offing

Elevation of Ms Sujata Koirala to the post of Dy Prime minister is another example of inability of Madhav kumar Nepal in running the Government. I still remember how he explained his move in a very shameless manner, he said he is doing it for Girija Pd Koirala as if Girija is above all and he can not be denied for any of his greediness.

The formation of UML led Government is in itself a highly unethical political drama. The record no of ministers only to save the Government is beyond anybody’s understanding. We are no novice to understand the immoral activities of our politicians for years. The last 15 painful years will always remain an incurable scar in our hearts and we all know the pain has been caused by none other than our so called patriotic politicians.

After constituents assembly election, we hoped our leaders will wake up and do some corrective measures for their past blunders but expecting anything exemplary from likes of Girija and Madhav can be mere hallucination. Present political drama is also centered as making and breaking alliances with no developmental agenda. The Maoists led government fell, UML led Government came, it will also fall and some other immoral leader will get the throne, what about common people of Nepal. They were in misery before 1989, they fought for democracy, sacrificed their precious lives, democracy came but the advantage still missing. I shouldn’t be recalling old day’s dramas which happened in 90s. The players are almost the same and so is the dirty game. All these leaders fought shamelessly to get power throughout nineties which resulted in people’s war as coined by Maoists, 15000 innocent lives were sacrificed in name of revolution, and the result is cipher.

Again these political leaders succeeded in getting people’s support in 2006 for great revolution to dethrone the Monarchy but still the result is no different, lives were sacrificed but our political leaders remain unturned. They still have the same ill motives.

I am convinced that people like Girija, Madhav, Khanal and Dahal are the biggest enemy of Nepal; they are like cancerous cells which will keep on multiplying resulting in more immoral and unethical politicians in Nepal. The constituent assembly since its inception might have spent more than a billion, but drafting of constitution doesn’t look feasible at this point of time.

The security condition in Nepal is similar to one that used to be in Afghanistan during Taliban regime, I do not know what the PM is doing with his jumbo council of ministers. I know he will not do anything as he has his primary goal to please Girija and remain PM as long as he can. I would not be surprised if someday I get up with a news that for the first time in history, a country has multiple PMs or all the members of parliament are ministers .it can happen only in Nepal as it has great Girija Prasad Koirala.

Now coming to another big political drama in name of Madhesi politics, it is a fact that in Nepal madhesis have always been discriminated for everything. Because of the language they naturally speak, their appearance, their clothings they have always been treated as aliens. The time was changing , so this issue was also blown up to cash. Hundreds of madhesi parties have been opened to cash on emotions of madhesi people. Using this very sensitive matter, some of the leaders reached to Singh Durbar but what has been the result ? they have all forgotten what they stand for , suddenly and surprisingly I find them fighting with their own said agenda. Hundreds of armed madhesi groups have made lives of people throughout southern plain very tough. The recent killings in Birgunj are few examples to name, the daily extortion calls from these so called madhesis outfit has simply made southern plain impossible to live. The frequent Bandh call, chakka Jams and violence has become part of daily live. But our leaders and ministers are undeterred because they only care about becoming a minister and securing their ministerial berths. I feel these activities of irresponsible people in power is simply laying foundation for a disastrous volcanic eruption.

[AIMSA "Unity in Diversity"] Hindi Language

Dear Members,
        How are you all?

I am not able to understand is that why the Federal Republic of Nepal is still in confusion about what language should be used. Over a year later the Supreme Court of Nepal  declared the Vice President's oath in Hindi as illegal, though the written oath was submitted in Nepali language.

Nepal's Supreme Court's decision on the legality of the Vice President's oath— a year after it was administered—raises several questions of constitutional importance: -
1. how is it possible that someone can hold the second highest public position in Nepal illegally, according to the Supreme Court, for over a year?
2. If the Vice President's oath is indeed illegal, what about the President's role conducting the oath and the Chief Judge who allowed this to happen?
3. Is the Vice President alone responsible for that the Court found his oath illegal? What about the President and Chief Justice's duty concerning his oath?

At the swearing in ceremony, the Chief Justice was representing the entire judiciary of the country. He was not only administering the oath to the President, but also observing the oath of the Vice President administered by the President.

Supreme Court could have stopped the swearing ceremony when Vice Presidents had taken oath in Hindi.

[AIMSA "Unity in Diversity"] Strategic rethinking for the welfare of Madhesi

Dear all,

We all know that madhesi society has weakness of "less co-ordination" within, which keeps stoping us from collective progress. We have inherited this, and there is no escaping from it. We should own this weakness and gradually aspire to improve it. But this weakness is being exploited by pahari-satta to prolongue their satta in madhesh, and this is a big challenge in front of all. Also, we know how much madhesi life is inseperable with Indian society. According to WTO or SAFTA or Indo-nepal 1951 treaty, the border should be reduced to paper-map, and border shouldn't impact on the improvement of quality of people life. But kathmandu satta-dhari is heel bent on seperating madhesi life with Indian society in the form of bhansar-tax (which fund pajaro and luxuries for satta-dhari). But no one question, when when Madhav, Prachanda, Girija beg infront of delhi darwar ?

We all have a collective dream to meet everyone's "Roti", "Rojgar", "Respect" need. But this global demand will remain unrealised, if we all keep on acting at individual level. And that's why the "mass Revolution" and "leadership" comes into picture. Madhesi people have energy to take revolution to new height as required. But we have old leaders, still with old style of doing the things. We need fresh leaders with fresh ideas, and exicted energy in them (although it may be less-experienced), with new style of doing the works. I can think, we have already a sizable number of fresh youth leaders across parties elected this time. They remain divided by party, and divided by party high-command directives. But their entry root and goal are same. If required, I hope these fresh leader should be motivated, and they should be promoted to replace the old styled high-commands. Few percentage of leaders on high-command shouldn't interfere for personal interest, if youth fresh leaders comes together for collactive goal.

The challenge of fresh leaders are not going to be internals only. First challenge will be to ignore the kathmandu darwar. If all of us does agree that each desision gets executed outside nepal, and each project in nepal get funded from outside nepal, then the strategy should be to directly beg infront of original decision makers and original financers, and not infront of pahari-satta.

The second challenge will be integrate with World. As once Krit Sharma jii wanted to discuss, why madhesis are not in British army ? This question should be properly communicated to world community that, British Government shouldn't discriminate between people in Nepal. In the same line, we can communicate to India that they should select madhesi into Indian army, and shouldn't discriminate. Many people have also experience that few embassy do discriminate with madhesis in lack of right information.

Let's start untilising fresh energy. Let's promote fresh leader produced during last two revolutions. Let's get fresh professional from other professional sectors. Let's get academician who brings fresh perspectives. All these coming together should lead the new race of madhesi, and implement new mission/vision for madhesi. Let's improve the way and channel to communicate with all the entities, including communication with Inda.British

Please correct me, if you think we can improve the strategic approach.

Thanks,
Ram Manohar
