Kathmandu, Oct 19 (PTI) Terming the Madhesi movement a product of "thoughtlessness", Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' today said the campaign lack the "ideological" commitment.
Addressing party's intellectuals in Nepalgunj, he said those launching Madhesi movement are trying to make Madhes issue a strategic tool to achieve their objective, according to a private TV channel 'Image'.
The Madhesi are culturally and ethnically close to the northern groups of India, who have raised certain grievances which includes economic discrimination, disproportionate electoral representation and under representation in the government, army, police and civil society organisation.
In recent times, a number of armed groups, claiming to support Madhesi grievances had clashed with police, and the Maoists.
Prachanda also claimed that Nepali Congress will join the present coalition government led by the Maoist and added that he will hold talks with Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala in this regard today.
"There is a growing possibility of NC joining the government," he claimed.
Claiming that there was no alternative to the present coalition government led by him, Prachanda warned that the country itself will fail if the present government failed to function properly.
The former rebel leader urged all political parties to extend cooperation to the government for drafting a new constitution as the country would fall into a catastrophe if the constitution could not be formulated within time frame.
He said that the government will form the commission on missing person before Dipawali festival. PTI
